Dear Colleagues, TAFISA is pleased to announce World Walking Day 2009 October 3rd & 4th 2009 World Walking Day (WWD) is an opportunity for TAFISA member organizations from all continents to present walking as a worldwide movement and, above all, as means to prevent obesity and increase activity. The World Health Organization (WHO) has officially recognized the TAFISA WWD and supports the event by linking it to its on-going annual global initiative Move for Health. This year, WWD will be bigger, with more participants and events, than ever! To reach this goal we need our members and organizers help. Registration starts now! We have also implemented some new innovations to make your work as an organizer easier. This newsletter contains all information you need, including the registration form.  |

All organizers of WWD 2009 events will receive artwork for posters, flyers and logos, as well as an organizing Guidebook with tips on how to organize WWD and make it appealing to the public. There will be a Merchandise Catalogue, from which organizers can order different World Walking Day merchandise products, such as t-shirts, caps, Nordic walking sticks, bags, and much more.
Please note: July 27th is the latest date to order merchandise articles! TAFISA will provide a ready made press newsletter for the organizers, who can use it for their own press work.
A special newsletter will be sent out to international news medias before WWD. In addition, all WWD 2009 information will be available on Twitter.
Note: TAFISA owns the World Walking Logo and permits you to use the logo for the WWD 2009. TAFISA can now allow the production of any merchandising articles by members, as the licence rights are held exclusively by Idea Force International. |

Registration for WWD 2009 organizers starts now! You will find the registration form online at www.tafisa.de/images/stories/Registration_WWD.pdf from next week.
After the registration every organizer will get a password to enable access for downloading organizing material such as artwork and the Guidebook from the TAFISA website.
July 27th is the latest date to order merchandise articles! |

The Guidelines for the TAFISA WWD 2009 include the following. 1. WWD 2009 is open for all TAFISA members to participate. 2. The official month of WWD 2009 is October. 3. Each country is free to organise more than one event for WWD. 4. Organizers may wish to choose an event already scheduled for Octiber 2009. 5. All events should be under the authority of the respective local TAFISA member organisation, but not necessarily organised by the TAFISA member itself. 6. WWD should be promoted as a national Sports for All program. 7. After registration, each participating organizer will receive TAFISA support documentation. 8. TAFISA is responsible for the worldwide coordination of WWD. |
